What needed solving.
Political coverage tends to assume you already know a lot. If you don't, politics feels like it happens on another planet, and the decisions that shape your rent, your school and your street happen without you.
How I got there.
Start with the explainer in plain words, then back it with a tool that lets someone check the evidence themselves. Write the analysis, build the interface, treat them as the same job.
What it became.
150+ articles and explainers, 50k+ readers a month, and four public tools: PartijMeter, Politiek Kompas, Stemmentracker and the Stemwijzer for Ede 2026. Free and ad-free, carried entirely by readers.
What it actually did.
What started as a side project during my MBO turned into one of the most-read independent political sites in the Netherlands, with its own live midterms dashboard. It proved that plain language plus a working tool can do more to make politics legible than any single argument.
